What's New This Season at Kate Koel
Lately we've been busy season for new work in the studio. The newest pieces lean into bigger statement silhouettes (oval drops, asymmetric triangles, disco hoops) and explore gemstones we haven't featured heavily before, including real crushed watermelon tourmaline, chrysocolla, ruby, and sunstone. Several existing collections have also picked up new variants, particularly the Galaxy, Abalone Shell, Floral Romance, and Howlite collections.
The three newest pieces in the catalog right now are:
Minimalist Malachite Oval Earrings ($135) – Real crushed malachite in a slim oval drop, the newest addition to the malachite family. These pair beautifully with the Statement Malachite Ring for a matched set, or layered with everyday studs for contrast.
Asymmetric Triangle Statement Earrings ($115) – A new geometric direction for the studio. Two different triangle shapes worn together for an asymmetric look that's having a real moment in editorial styling right now.
Watermelon Tourmaline Necklace ($210) – The single most distinctive new piece in the catalog. Real crushed watermelon tourmaline (the natural pink-and-green gemstone that grows in concentric bands) suspended in clear resin. This is the highest-priced piece on the New In page and the most unusual gemstone we currently work with.
Recently Added — Statement Earrings, Disco Hoops & Watermelon Tourmaline
Three trends are driving the newest pieces:
Disco Hoops are the most-released style of the season. The Disco Statement Hoop Earrings ($255), Disco Hoop Dangle Earrings ($155), and Disco Hoop Stud Earrings ($125) all landed in late March 2026. The disco hoop is a textured, dimensional hoop that catches light like a disco ball, which is exactly why it's having a moment for spring and summer 2026 nightlife dressing and festival outfits. If you only buy one new piece this season, this is the trend piece.
Statement Drop Earrings continue to be the workhorse of new releases. The Silver Glow Oval Drop Earrings ($115), Luminous Abalone Oval Earrings ($115), and Midnight Abalone Oval Drop Earrings ($115) all dropped on March 28, 2026, and represent a slimmer, more elongated take on the classic Kate Koel statement earring shape.
Real Watermelon Tourmaline is the newest gemstone material to enter the catalog. Watermelon tourmaline is one of the most distinctive natural gemstones in the world because the pink core and green outer band grow together in the same crystal. Each pour of crushed watermelon tourmaline gives the resin a soft pink-green ombre effect that's totally different from any other piece in the catalog.
New Gemstones in the Catalog — Tourmaline, Chrysocolla, Sunstone & Ruby
Four gemstones have joined the catalog in recent drops, expanding the color story well beyond the original turquoise-malachite-abalone foundation.
Watermelon Tourmaline is the headline gemstone introduction. As described above, this is a natural bi-color stone that grows pink and green together. It's beloved by gemstone collectors and stylists for its uniqueness. It now appears in the Watermelon Tourmaline Necklace.
Chrysocolla is a soft teal-blue copper-bearing stone that's often confused with turquoise but reads as a more saturated, slightly greener blue. Chrysocolla has been associated with calm, communication, and emotional balance for centuries and is paired beautifully with howlite (its visual opposite) in the new Howlite Chrysocolla Dangle Earrings ($145) and Howlite & Chrysocolla Square Dangle Earrings ($110).
Ruby entered the catalog in December 2025 in a series of "Rouge" pieces. Real crushed ruby gives a deep, saturated red that's noticeably more sophisticated than synthetic red dye. The Crushed Ruby Ring ($135), Statement Oval Ruby Ring ($135), Statement Ruby Square Ring ($145), and Square Dainty Ruby Ring ($95) are the major ruby pieces in the New In feed.
Sunstone is a warm, glittering orange-gold stone that catches light like tiny sparks inside the crystal. It appears in the Sunstone Beaded Bracelet ($95) as the first sunstone piece in the catalog.
Trending Styles — Asymmetric, Mixed Metal & Disco
If you're shopping by style rather than gemstone, three style families are leading the new arrivals.
Asymmetric pieces are the biggest editorial direction. The Asymmetric Triangle Statement Earrings ($115) are the clearest example, but the asymmetric aesthetic also shows up in the Hammered Bar Statement Earrings ($155) and Hammered Round Statement Earrings ($255). Asymmetric jewelry reads as modern and intentional, the opposite of safe symmetrical hoops.
Mixed Metal is the second growing style family. The Mixed Metal Dot Disc Bracelet ($95), Mixed Metal Dot Disk Earrings ($115), Mixed Metal Dot Disc Necklace ($195), and Mixed Metal Stacking Ring Set ($110) all combine gold-filled and sterling silver in the same piece. Mixed metal jewelry solves the "do my earrings match my ring?" problem because it intentionally pairs both, which means it works with whatever you already own.
Disco and Textured Hoops are the third trend wave, captured in the Disco Hoop family above plus the Textured Sequin Dangle Earrings ($175), which use a different texturing technique for a similar light-catching effect.
